Eftsure, is a fast-scaling SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) Fraud Technology platform that protects the B2B payments of Australian businesses by providing real-time vendor (supplier) verification and real-time payment protection. Role Summary
The Tech Team Lead balances technical prowess with adept people management, overseeing a team of skilled software engineers and guiding them to deliver exceptional results. With a strong foundation in coding, the Tech Lead contributes hands-on to projects while orchestrating the team’s technical direction. This leadership role supports team members in their career development and technical growth, ensuring both the team and the individual engineers thrive.
Your ability to solve complex technical challenges, coupled with your attention to detail, will drive the timely delivery of high-quality software projects. Moreover, your contributions will shape the future of Eftsure’s software engineering methodologies, fostering innovation and excellence.
As a valued member of the Eftsure team, your responsibilities will be to:
- Leadership and Team Management: Mentor and support a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth and a cohesive, motivated team environment.
- Technical Leadership: Lead by example in coding and technical discussions, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code, and adhering to best practices.
- Agile Process: Collaborate with Product Managers, estimate user stories, facilitate agile ceremonies, own delivery to production, and monitor and improve team productivity and progress.
- Project and Task Management: Coordinate across teams to ensure projects are aligned and delivered on time, reporting on project status and risks.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, advise on best practices, and make informed decisions on architecture and technology stacks.
- Communication: Act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, presenting technical insights clearly.
- Problem Solving and Documentation: Lead troubleshooting efforts, document code and design decisions, and manage technical risks.
- Team Building and Culture: Build a positive culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Metrics and Compliance: Contribute to setting KPIs, tracking team performance, and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Hiring: Identify skills needed and help onboard new team members to strengthen the team.
What you need to be successful
- Technical Proficiency: Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies and trends. Continue to code and contribute to projects.
- Leadership and Team Building: Inspire, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
- Communication Skills: Ensure clear and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving and Decision-Making: Proactively address technical challenges and make informed decisions based on data and business goals.
- Agile Mindset: Promote Agile principles and adaptability in response to changing project needs.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Invest in personal and team growth, staying current with industry trends.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5 to 10+ years of relevant professional experience as a software engineer.
- 2+ years of experience coaching/mentoring engineers, with some experience managing aspects of their work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience using Java and AWS is advantage.
- Relevant certifications showcasing advanced technical knowledge or specialisation are highly regarded.
