We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing international data team (Australia + France). This is a high-impact role where you’ll help build and scale our data platform, turning raw data into trusted, actionable insights across the business.
About the role
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, giving you exposure across the full data stack - from pipelines and infrastructure through to business-facing insights.
You’ll focus primarily on strengthening our data engineering foundations, while also contributing to analytics and BI when needed - helping teams across Eftsure confidently use data to make decisions.
What you’ll be doing
Data Engineering - Primary Focus
Design, build and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines
Improve and evolve our modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran)
Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure high performance and quality
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and root cause analysis
Support security, governance, and compliance best practices (e.g. GDPR)
Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable data solutions
Analytics Engineering - Secondary, When Needed
Build and maintain clean, well-documented datasets in our warehouse
Develop and support dashboards and reporting for stakeholders
Translate business requirements into scalable data models and metrics
Enable self-service analytics across the organisation
What you’ll bring
Core experience
2–5 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar
Strong SQL and working proficiency in Python
Experience with modern data tools (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran)
Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based data environments
Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
Solid understanding of data modelling, monitoring, and reliability concepts
Comfortable using Git and CI/CD workflows
Comfortable working in UNIX‑based environments and performing common command‑line (CLI) tasks
Nice to have
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Metabase, etc.)
Exposure to Terraform or Kubernetes
Experience with relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server)
Familiarity with APIs and data integration patterns
